Prayer / Inventory / Spellbook
A compact three-panel loop for protection prayers, supplies, and spell access.
OSRS / Input workflow
Start with ordinary OSRS binds. Keep Prayer, Inventory, Spellbook, and camera controls in a small cluster. Add mouse buttons only when they solve a real reach problem.
MMOSetup / Layout notes
Keep the F-key map you already use without thinking. If reach is the problem, put Prayer, Inventory, and Spellbook or Equipment on the three easiest panel keys first. Add camera or movement only where the session proves a need. Mouse buttons should mirror ordinary keys, not hide a sequence behind one press. Change the layout when the activity or client changes the panel set you actually open.
Familiar keys beat a new layout unless a specific reach problem keeps showing up. Combat, skilling, and mobile clients each favor a different panel set.
| Control | Starting assignment | Why it belongs there | Change it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Easiest panel key | Prayer | It is the most time-sensitive panel for many combat loops. | Your activity relies more on a different panel. |
| Adjacent panel key | Inventory | Supplies, gear, and item actions stay beside the first priority. | You use a one-handed layout with a different natural reach. |
| Third panel key | Spellbook or Equipment | Choose the panel that removes the next repeated keyboard reach. | The activity has a clear third-panel requirement. |
| Mouse buttons | Ordinary single keys | They can move an existing input closer without changing the workflow. | The button position is harder to reach than the keyboard. |
| Camera | Existing camera keys or RuneLite remap | Keep camera movement separate from panel switching. | The remap makes chat or movement harder to control. |

Use Equipment when gear access is the repeated action that slows the current workflow.
Keep the default F-row or a QWER alternative when it already fits your hand.
Rules boundary
RuneLite documents camera remapping and F-key-to-number-row remapping. That describes client behavior, not permission to automate actions.
Jagex rules remain the authority for macroing and third-party software or hardware that performs actions the player should perform.
Read the current Jagex rules before using any remapping device or software profile.
Change one layer at a time so you can identify the cause of a bad bind.
| Step | Action | Pass condition |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Write down the current F-key assignments. | You can restore the old layout. |
| 02 | Move only one panel to the new position. | Chat, movement, and escape remain unchanged. |
| 03 | Assign ordinary keys or mouse buttons. | Each physical press creates one expected key output. |
| 04 | Use a bank or low-stakes activity first. | The panel sequence feels predictable before combat. |
| 05 | Keep the old profile available for a session. | You can reverse the change without rebuilding the layout. |
When a keypad helps
A one-handed keypad can put three to twelve ordinary inputs beneath one hand. It is a reach decision, not a reason to add a macro layer.
Our SayoDevice O3C guide covers a strict three-key Prayer, Inventory, and Spellbook example with the exact listing and configuration limits.
Compare
The reversible F-key map stays here. These pages are the next hardware shortlist.
Fixed 12-button grid versus a sliding thumb panel.
Lighter fixed grid versus the adjustable Scimitar panel.
Same 12-button job at two different prices.
Custom 3D-printed fit versus a familiar analog-key keypad.
A fixed MMO keypad versus a console-style command unit.
Sources and limits
The default preserves your current panels. The alternate map is a small change for players who can name the panels that actually move.
Jagex rules and the OSRS controls reference informed this layout. No hands-on remap test was run on the cited hardware.

Not universally. QWER can shorten reach for some players; F-keys can preserve the familiar OSRS panel map. Pick the layout you can restore and reach.
Keep the example to ordinary panel or game inputs. The guide does not recommend recorded clicks or sequences.
No. Add one only when the current keyboard position is the actual problem and the device can send ordinary single-key outputs.
