Editorial standard

How MMOSetup makes recommendations.

We start with what the player is trying to do, check published specs and game rules, say what we did not test, and never treat an affiliate link as proof.

Start with the job, not the aisle

A recommendation has to fit a named activity: prayer switching on OSRS, raid information on WoW, loot-filter readability on Path of Exile, hotbar stability on FFXIV. If two products both do the job, we explain the trade-offs. If neither fits, we recommend skipping the purchase.

Sources, not a private test lab

Most pages are researched from manufacturer specifications, official game or client documentation, and attributed third-party reports. That is not the same as a bench test. When a page includes first-hand observation, it says so in the method notes. When it does not, it does not pretend a lab session happened.

Game hubs and guides include a method note about their own research. It does not mean every product here was tested in person.

What we do not invent

  • Prices, stock, or “current” Amazon availability.
  • Star ratings or aggregate review scores.
  • Medical outcomes or skill improvement.

Affiliate links do not confirm current price or availability. Check the retailer's listing for the exact model and configuration before buying.

Affiliate links

MMOSetup is free and has no ads. If you buy through our Amazon links, you pay the same price and we earn a small cut, which keeps the guides coming. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Corrections and freshness

We correct errors in specs, models, clients, and listings. A hub or guide date marks when we reviewed that page; linked products may have been checked earlier. We update comparisons when the products still support a real purchase decision and remove them when they do not.
