A keyboard hotbar has 12 slots. The common keypad map puts Hotbar 1 on a 4 × 3 block of keys, with Shift and Ctrl layers for Hotbars 2 and 3 (r/ffxiv players). On the Tartarus, set thumbpad up/down to W/S and left/right to Shift/Ctrl so a thumb flick swaps bars while you turn with the mouse; custom binds live in Synapse.
On the F14, set the stick to left stick on PC for analog movement (FFXIV reads a gamepad stick and keyboard/mouse together) or to arrow keys if you prefer keyboard movement, and save one onboard profile per role. Razer Synapse runs on Windows. Razer lists a Synapse Mac preview for Apple-silicon Macs on macOS 15 or later, but we couldn't confirm the Tartarus V2 on its device list. There is no Linux app. The V2 has no onboard memory, so custom binds, macros, and Hypershift need Synapse running.
The HORI PC app assigns keys, manages profiles, configures the stick and dead zone, and turns the backlight on or off. Eight profiles stay on the keypad, so it works without the app once set. One r/ffxiv player reports using it on Linux this way.

Only as digital directions. HORI says the F14 works as a keyboard on PS5 and PS4, so the stick maps to four inputs that are either on or off, and analog movement works only on PC. HORI adds that you can use a mouse alongside it on PS5 for finer movement.

It can be. r/ffxiv players with smaller hands called it significantly larger than their hand and found the flat, upright stick hard to adapt to. The Tartarus V2's palm rest has two positions, and one player's partner removed it to reach the top row. Try both if you can.
Razer launched the Tartarus V2 Pro on September 17, 2026, with a full-size TMR thumbstick, 31 programmable controls, and three onboard profiles. That answers the F14's two advantages on this page, analog movement and onboard storage. We haven't checked its Amazon listing, so it isn't linked here.
