The Multi-Logger's Monitor Layout: Best 4K & Ultrawide Setups for Tiling 2–4 OSRS / EVE / Albion Clients

Reviewed

Choose a workspace for your clients

Start with the number of clients you use and the smallest window in which you can read each interface. A three-column layout and a two-by-two grid use the same screen very differently.

Screen-space distance is not physical mouse travel. Pointer settings, client placement and window sizes all affect the path between actions. Use the simulator below to compare pixel layouts, then test them in your own clients.

Why a 32-Inch 4K Monitor Beats Ultrawide for 3–4 OSRS Clients

A 3840×2160 panel divides into four 1920×1080 pixel regions before taskbars, window borders or desktop scaling. That is a useful starting grid, not a guarantee of four full-HD client viewports.

  • Windows Snap Layouts or PowerToys FancyZones can reserve one quadrant per client. Inventory panels remain positioned within each game window; they do not automatically meet at the screen center.
  • Compare the actual inventory positions after arranging your clients. A two-by-two grid uses vertical space; a super-ultrawide keeps more windows along one horizontal row.

Solving the Windows 4K DPI Scaling Headache in RuneLite

If you buy a 32-inch 4K monitor, you will likely set Windows Display Scaling to 125% or 150% so desktop text is readable. By default, Windows DPI scaling can make Java applications like RuneLite look blurry or misalign clickboxes when tiling windows.

How to Get Razor-Sharp 4K Multi-Client Scaling in RuneLite:

  • Do Not Use Windows Compatibility DPI Overrides if Using Stretched Mode: Leave RuneLite rendering at native 4K resolution so 3D models and fonts stay crisp via the GPU or 117 HD plugin.
  • Use RuneLite's Native "Stretched Mode" Plugin: Enable Stretched Mode and set Resizable Scaling between 50% and 75% depending on whether your window is a quarter-screen quadrant (1920x1080) or half-screen (1920x2160).
  • Set UI Scaling Mode in the GPU Plugin to "xBR" or "Bicubic (Catmull-Rom)": In the GPU plugin settings, changing UI Scaling from Nearest Neighbor to Bicubic (Catmull-Rom) or xBR eliminates pixelated jagged text on prayer icons and inventory stack numbers when windows are resized to odd dimensions.
  • Lock Your Window Sizes with PowerToys FancyZones: Install Microsoft's free PowerToys utility and enable FancyZones. Create a custom layout with a 65% width main window on the left (for Raids/Bossing) and two stacked 35% width quadrants on the right (for your alts + wiki). Hold Shift while dragging any RuneLite window to snap it to the exact pixel dimensions every time you log in.

Hardware Recommendations for Multi-Client Desks

  • Best 32" 4K IPS Monitor for 4-Client Tiling: LG 32GR93U-B or Gigabyte M32U — Both use 144Hz IPS panels. LCD does not use OLED pixel wear, though image retention is not impossible in every condition. (The Gigabyte M32U also includes a built-in KVM Switch, letting you toggle your keyboard, mouse, and monitor between your work laptop via USB-C and your gaming PC with a single button press).
  • Best Dual/Single Heavy-Duty Monitor Arm: Ergotron LX or Vivo Premium Aluminum Pneumatic Arm — Lifting a 32" 4K monitor 6 inches off the desk clears space underneath for a micro-keypad, audio interface, or laptop dock.
What are you planning?

Choose a matching screen shape if your exact model is not listed.

1. Simulator mode
2. Pick your monitor
Enter my screen and minimum window size

Enter the native resolution and scaling from your display settings. Defaults are examples; your screen is not detected automatically.

Optional: enter a window size you have tried in the real client, including borders. Leave either minimum at 0 for no limit. Logical pixels = native pixels ÷ desktop scaling.

Enter your minimum window dimensions to check this layout.

The same arrangement and reserved bottom height are used on both screens. Selected-screen scaling is set beside the preview; current scaling is entered in the screen form. Diagonal affects panel-distance estimates, not available pixels.

What this preview does and does not model
  • UI scale is illustrative (0.75×); it is not an exact RuneLite plugin setting.
  • Geometry uses 3440×1440 native pixels with 40px reserved for the taskbar.
  • panel geometry distance is a straight-line screen-coordinate estimate on a curved-panel approximation, not mouse travel, eye movement, or an ergonomic result.
  • Window borders, client chrome, and minimum usable client sizes are not modeled.
  • GPU UI Scaling choice is included in the checklist; this schematic illustrates texture treatment only; it is not an actual GPU or RuneLite shader.
  • LCD has no OLED pixel-wear mechanism; image retention is not impossible in every condition.
Apply this layout on Windows

Use the Microsoft FancyZones instructions alongside this plan. On other systems, use your window manager and the copied coordinates.

On Windows: Settings > System > Display. Select the intended monitor, set its native resolution and 100% scale.
In PowerToys FancyZones, open the layout editor on that monitor. Create a custom Canvas layout and use the coordinates below as a placement reference. Native coordinates divided by 1.00 give approximate logical coordinates; confirm the editor’s units. Keep 40px native height clear at the bottom.
Hold Shift while dragging a window into a zone. Check borders, taskbar position and client text; adjust zones in the editor. This tool does not install or overwrite any desktop configuration.

1. Use two_wiki tiling and confirm each client stays inside its native pixel rectangle.
2. Set desktop scaling to 100% and inspect text in every client.
3. Keep the wiki or reference pane in the spare column when selected.

Window plan (native pixel coordinates):
RuneLite 1: x=0, y=0, 1146×1400 native pixels; 1146×1400 logical pixels
RuneLite 2: x=1146, y=0, 1147×1400 native pixels; 1147×1400 logical pixels
Wiki / reference: x=2293, y=0, 1147×1400 native pixels; 1147×1400 logical pixels

100% desktop scaling; 40px reserved height. Window borders and client minimum sizes are not modeled.
