Before December 2

1. Check which character you will use. New characters qualify. An existing character qualifies if, on December 2, it has not been in membership since June 2, 2026.
2. Confirm you can log in. Sign in ahead of time and make sure you can reach the character you plan to play. Keep access to its linked email available.
3. Install and open the RuneScape client. Launch the game and get familiar with its Ribbon menu before the trial starts.
4. Set aside a short first session. The Adventure Guide and first part of the Remastered Journey are scheduled for December 2. Exact release and trial start times are not stated.
5. Remember the game boundary. The trial applies to RuneScape members’ worlds and content; Old School RuneScape members’ worlds are excluded.

RuneScape plugins are built into the game. Open the Ribbon menu and select the toolbox icon. In Classic interface mode, the toolbox is on the ribbon by default. In Modern interface mode, the toolbox is on the default ribbon when you hover over Settings; on a custom ribbon, it is at the end if there is room, or you can add it by editing the ribbon. A verified email is required. Jagex recommends the email linked to your Jagex Account.

Jagex lists these launch plugins: Quest Helper (69 quests), Menu Entry Swapper, Tilemarkers, Entity Hider, and Job Gauges. Installed plugins should enable automatically, though a plugin that needs permission may require you to accept it and enable it in Plugin Hub’s Manage tab. See Jagex’s plugin announcement.
