PoE 2 ultrawide setup: center the HUD before changing anything else

PoE 2 can use an ultrawide screen, but the useful space and the interface do not always move together. Start with the built-in centered UI, keep inventory travel in view, and avoid client modifications that promise to remove black bars.

Set native resolution, enable Centered UI, and walk through stash, inventory, vendors, combat, and co-op screens. If 32:9 leaves bars or long cursor travel, switch to a centered 21:9 or 16:9 window. Readable menus matter more than using every pixel.

Center the HUD before you judge the wide field. If stash, inventory, vendors, or co-op screens feel awkward at full width, a narrower centered window is the safer fix than patching the client.

32:9 nativeYou accept black bars or edge-bound panels after testing the current patch.Uses the full desktop without changing files. The game may not fill or center every element.

Controlled setup

Change the HUD, then test the sightline.

  1. Reset the display options you changed during earlier troubleshooting and take a screenshot of the baseline.
  2. Select the monitor's native resolution, then enable the built-in Centered UI option.
  3. Open the inventory, stash, passive tree, map, vendor, and settings screens. Note which panels stay centered and which move outward.
  4. Run one combat area with health, mana, skills, flasks, and boss information inside your comfortable reading zone.
  5. If 32:9 adds bars or excessive cursor travel, test a centered 21:9 or 16:9 borderless window before changing any other setting.

Combat HUD, inventory pricing, and capture framing each stress ultrawide layout differently. Test the workflow you repeat, not just a clean combat screenshot.

01 / Combat HUD

Combat HUD

Move life, mana, skill, and flask information inward. A wider world view does not help if you stop seeing the HUD.

02 / Inventory work

Inventory work

Judge the layout while pricing, stashing, and comparing items. Those panels expose edge travel faster than normal combat.

03 / Capture and streaming

Capture and streaming

A centered game window can produce a cleaner recording than a stretched 32:9 canvas with unused edges.

Patch changes

Recheck Centered UI after major Early Access updates. Interface behavior is still a moving target.

What this setup does not fix

An ultrawide monitor cannot repair an unreadable interface.

This setup does not force full 32:9 support, move every inventory panel, or make an unsupported client patch safe. It only gives the current built-in options a controlled test and a reversible fallback.

Does PoE 2 support ultrawide?

Players report working 21:9 layouts, but panel placement still varies. Test the current patch with Centered UI before treating the whole interface as ultrawide-aware.

Why are there black bars on 32:9?

The client may limit the rendered aspect or leave unused space beyond its supported view. A centered lower-aspect window is the safe workaround.

Should I install an ultrawide fix?

No. Do not modify the live-service client to remove bars or change its field of view. Use the built-in display and UI options.

Is fullscreen or borderless better?

Use the mode that preserves the intended resolution and reliable app switching on your system. Borderless is useful when a second app shares the desktop.
